About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications as approved under established medical protocols
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
  • Provide primary care services to adult and geriatric patients, with opportunities to serve pediatric and adolescent populations as needed
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up care
  • Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
  • Prescribe medications and make specialist referrals in accordance with medical protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, social service professionals, and care teams to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record system
  • Participate in continuing education
  • Serve on organizational committees and represent Mercy Care at community health fairs and outreach events 3–4 times annually

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Physician Assistant experience
  • Knowledge of Georgia Physician Assistant scope of practice
  • Experience with EPIC preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic communication systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency strongly preferred for the Chamblee Clinic
  • Maintain professional licensure and certification requirements
