About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate education for stakeholders regarding new clinical trials and treatments
- Screen and enroll patients into appropriate clinical trials
- Provide care management and coordination to ensure protocol compliance
- Coordinate care among physicians, Mount Carmel, and study sponsors
- Provide outpatient direct patient care and protocol-required inpatient assessments
- Manage clinical trial data collection, submission, and query resolution
- Prepare and maintain regulatory, IRB, and study files
- Compile and submit information and data summaries
- Serve as liaison and resource for internal and external research stakeholders
- Advocate for patients participating in clinical trials
- Plan and develop assigned research projects, including post-hospital follow-up plans
- Assist physicians with informed consent
- Coordinate investigational drug availability, storage, administration, and documentation
- Assist with quality assurance and audit activities
- Orient new research nurses and data collection and treatment staff
- Provide cross-coverage for other research nurses
- Attend IRB and committee meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio
- CITI research ethics training required (on-site training provided)
- Minimum of five years of oncology clinical nursing experience
- Demonstrated experience in the clinical research setting preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of research regulatory and data management requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Strong time management skills
