About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategic sourcing activities for complex small- to medium-sized initiatives
- Achieve cost reductions and year-over-year cost and productivity improvements while maintaining or improving quality and vendor service levels
- Manage simultaneous competitive sourcing processes and high-value contract negotiations
- Manage risk affecting day-to-day operations and limit exposure on high-risk projects
- Maintain supplier and Trinity group purchasing organization relationships
- Negotiate supplier terms, work with legal on contracts, monitor supplier performance, and conduct business reviews
- Represent Trinity’s interests on GPO advisory boards and support contract implementation
- Optimize use of national, custom, and Trinity Health system purchasing agreements
- Conduct competitive sourcing and negotiation processes for supplies, services, and equipment
- Analyze proposals, perform cost-benefit analyses, develop reports, and present findings
- Prioritize assigned commodity projects and lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes
- Lead cross-functional sourcing teams and build stakeholder consensus
- Develop, execute, and communicate sourcing strategies with senior management and key stakeholders
- Promote lean/process excellence and lead productivity and end-to-end process-efficiency initiatives
- Engage suppliers legally, ethically, and in accordance with Trinity Health policies
- Serve as subject matter expert for category supplier engagement questions
- Plan, manage, and oversee complex sourcing project lifecycles
- Review, redline, and draft contract language and collaborate with legal counsel
- Partner with Finance to validate forecasted savings
- Track supplier performance against scorecards and conduct supplier business reviews
- Facilitate resolution of service issues with business owners, RHM management, Supply Chain staff, suppliers, and RHMs
- Establish procedures for comprehensive sourcing processes across Trinity Health
- Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, compliance programs, and policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a clinical discipline and 5 years of relevant Supply Chain work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, competitive sourcing processes, and complex contract negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis
- Understanding of Lean and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers
- Ability to address conflict and challenge conventional thinking
- Ability to understand customer and stakeholder businesses at financial, operational, and business-impact levels
- Ability to identify potential issues and formulate viable solutions
- Strong analytical skills, including TCO, EVC, and NPV analyses
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Ability to understand supplier bases and relevant market trends
- Knowledge of contract law and governing regulations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
- Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared-leadership environment
- Honesty, integrity, caring, and ability to inspire and motivate others
- Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required
- Must be able to travel to various Trinity Health sites (20%) as needed
- Must comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures
- Appropriate technical certification such as CQM, CPM, or CPIM desirable
- Knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning application preferred
