About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide financial stewardship and direction to the assigned market and/or ministry
  • Lead business strategy deployment, internal controls, and operating and capital budget development, monitoring and management
  • Support market and ministry executives within the Services Area
  • Engage in market-level strategy alignment
  • Evaluate organizational performance against goals and formulate corrective plans
  • Manage teams of mid-level and senior professionals
  • Lead or engage in multidisciplinary projects and initiatives
  • Manage company finances and identify ways to increase revenue and decrease costs
  • Analyze financial reports and prepare operating budgets
  • Partner with senior management on financial, operational and strategic issues
  • Ensure integrity of financial information and reporting
  • Advise RHM and Market/Ministry leaders on strategy and performance goals
  • Enable collaboration across Service Area, RHM and Markets
  • Lead standardization, systemness and optimization of policy, process and methodology
  • Establish a national community of practice
  • Oversee vendor and contract labor management, including strategy centralization and spend optimization
  • Collaborate in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional priorities and initiatives
  • Support regional compliance with functional priorities
  • Select, evaluate and ensure the success of functional leadership teams
  • Establish organization-wide functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing
  • Maintain communication between Service Area, RHM and Markets leaders
  • Implement and drive financial strategies for the service area
  • Measure and report KPIs, metrics and value delivery
  • Provide advice, guidance and leadership throughout the colleague life cycle
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and compliance requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or related field required
  • Ten years’ experience in financial management with progressively increasing responsibility required
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as CFO, controller or finance director in a hospital setting or complex service organization required
  • Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity and caring, with ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association certification desirable
  • Multi-hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a complex delivery system with a multi-specialty medical group and a Medicare Advantage health plan preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal, state and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate Trinity Health mission, values, vision, actions and promise in behaviors, practices and decisions
