About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist nursing staff in the continuous monitoring of patients requiring close observation via remote camera monitoring
- Maintain visual observation at all times, monitoring patient behaviors and movements
- Remain alert and recognize behaviors that could result in potential harm to patients
- Support the plan of care for patients requiring virtual monitoring
- Verbally redirect patients over a digital 2-way audio device
- Immediately summon nursing staff when patients require assistance
- Provide patient comfort and safety while protecting dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
- Communicate with internal and external customers and colleagues in a courteous, positive, empathetic, and professional manner
- Provide shift-to-shift handoff to virtual monitoring attendants and nursing staff regarding pertinent information and behaviors
- Provide nursing staff with timely information when patients appear to pose a threat to themselves or others
Requirements
What you’ll need- General knowledge normally acquired by completing a high school diploma or equivalent required
- Capable of continuous monitoring of up to 16 patients at one time
- Ability to communicate verbally, calmly and courteously in stressful situations
- Ability to work Independently maintaining accuracy, consistency and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Basic Computer skills
- Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
- Must work every other weekend/holiday as scheduled
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
