About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build an AI-assisted, driver-based economic model connecting usage and billing data across hundreds of SKUs to forecasts and investment decisions
- Identify infrastructure-spend optimization opportunities and partner with Engineering to reduce R&D costs without slowing product velocity
- Define TRM's AI spend strategy with the Head of AI and track spend against ROI by tool and workload
- Own planning, forecasting, and the R&D headcount capacity model, with automated workflows to flag risks
- Lead infrastructure and R&D investment cases from business case through decision and measurement
- Create executive and board narratives explaining R&D performance, changes, causes, and recommended decisions
- Rebuild R&D finance using AI, automation, and Pigment
- Partner with the CTO and R&D leadership; report to the Head of Strategic Finance and FP&A
- Deliver an initial AI-assisted GCP cloud forecast within 30 days, an AI spend strategy within 60 days, and an integrated R&D capacity model within 90 days
- Participate in regular CTO/R&D working sessions, monthly cost and forecast reviews, quarterly headcount-capacity planning, and annual Pigment planning cycles
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years across strategic finance, FP&A, business operations, or a related role
- Experience owning consequential work end to end, from framing ambiguous questions through recommendations and action
- Strong data-informed modeling skills, including driver-based forecasts, investment cases, and capacity models built from incomplete or complex data
- Hands-on experience analyzing cloud, compute, AI, or other usage-based technology costs
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Data, AI, or Infrastructure leaders
- Judgment and communication skills to become a trusted partner to senior technical leaders
- Applied AI fluency, including using AI to improve modeling, research, or recurring workflows and checking output reliability
- Curiosity to learn technical systems quickly and translate AI products and modern infrastructure into financial insight
- Comfort with ambiguity, rapid change, high ownership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving
