About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple existing customer accounts
- Lead development of potential new contract manufacturing and packaging opportunities across North America
- Lead internal and external activities and drive business development strategies to acquire new customers and increase retention and growth with existing customers
- Coordinate with global counterparts to develop and manage relationship plans for large global customers across North America and Europe
- Report to the Chief Customer Officer and interface regularly with the Executive Team and CEO
- Achieve or exceed annual growth, performance, pricing target, and forecast accuracy goals
- Research, analyze, and report on potential new customer and business development opportunities
- Develop and achieve annual account objectives and deliverables for North America
- Monitor the contract manufacturing and packaging industry for changes, risks, and opportunities
- Drive new business development, including consultative solution development, RFP responses, pricing development, and win plans
- Manage customer relationship development plans
- Facilitate and attend plant tours, conferences, and industry events
- Secure internal stakeholder data for customer proposals
- Support account retention objectives and lead the customer engagement process
- Coordinate startup of new projects with internal departments
- Facilitate stakeholder communications during project and program startups
- Prepare and communicate timelines and accountability areas
- Identify startup issues, develop resolutions, and communicate resolutions internally and externally
- Manage CRM reporting and distribute customer activity and opportunity reports
- Optimize customer reporting tools and proprietary systems
- Engage in strategic and tactical planning to achieve customer sales
- Identify improvements in operational efficiency, service levels, and operational differentiation
- Manage escalation of service-level concerns
- Facilitate questions, resolutions, audits, and sales-related quality requests
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of Contract Manufacturing and/or Contract Packaging experience
- 5+ years of CPG/FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Healthcare manufacturing or packaging experience
- Extensive customer-facing and solution development experience
- Deep understanding of manufacturing, packaging, and/or supply chain operations
- Strong track record of delivering results via new business wins or account growth
- Experience with large-scale, complex selling to Fortune 500 customers, including $10M+ deals
- Deep understanding of financial components to deal development
- Deep experience with shared, dedicated, or in-plant/in-DC contract packaging
- Ability to work independently and be an outstanding team player
- Ability to travel 50%, primarily domestically and occasionally internationally
- Ability to distill customer needs to the organization and maintain a strong customer focus
- Ability to navigate complex customer organizational structures and build strong relationships
- Supply chain management or operations experience is a plus
- Strong executive presence
- Bachelor's Degree or other related field, or equivalent experience
- Master's Degree in Management, Marketing, Finance, or another related field, or equivalent experience preferred
