About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell company products and services to segment customers in the assigned territory
- Create sales opportunities, defend sales, and penetrate sales with existing and potential customers
- Develop technical product, application, and supplier strategies with TBU leadership and Regional Sales teams
- Define target customers and develop regional and local customer plans
- Jointly visit customers with Outside Sales teams and strategic suppliers to execute product design-ins
- Develop sales strategies, generate leads, and call on segment customers to win product orders
- Monitor plans using Customer Account Manager and Opportunity Management System reports
- Review branch progress toward OMS targets with branch managers and report activities to TBU leadership
- Act as primary account manager for key OEM locations in the assigned geography
- Create new opportunities for key segment product lines
- Serve as transportation business segment subject matter expert for the TTI sales organization
- Facilitate training programs for branch sales personnel
- Understand supplier design registration programs, design protection discounts, competition, pricing, and market conditions
- Maintain relationships with branch sales managers, suppliers, and key customers
- Pursue new business leads through representatives, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, the internet, and internal resources
- Facilitate quarterly business reviews with suppliers and regular internal management meetings
- Communicate key OEM design wins to branch locations
- Resolve technical questions, problems, and complaints from key segment customers
- Maintain market awareness through industry publications, networking, training events, and trade shows
- Support TTI's Total Quality Program and identify process improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field (e.g. business, engineering, etc.)
- Minimum of five years experience in electronics
- Previous knowledge or work experience in the Automotive & Transportation industry preferred
- Previous sensor experience preferred
- Extensive product and technical knowledge within the distribution industry
- Customer and application knowledge within the given region or country of responsibility
- Experience in the NBO Identification and Development process at a customer level
- Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
- Team player able to work proactively with TSEs and Outside Sales teams
- Good sales and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated and driven, able to work from home office
- Good presentation and mentoring skills
- Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills for setting local/regional strategies and measuring success
- Strong verbal and written English language skills
- Extensive knowledge and high skill level in relevant IT systems and MS Office applications
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and insurability by the company's liability carrier
- Approximately 50% travel required
- Must be local or willing to relocate at own expense
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
