About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions using the full Microsoft stack and supporting technologies
  • Implement and manage event-driven architectures using Kafka event streams
  • Apply modern software design principles to create scalable and resilient systems
  • Provision, monitor, and maintain cloud-based resources and systems via Azure Portal
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various businesses within U-Haul
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software applications
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
  • Understand system interactions and integrate multiple applications efficiently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years in software development and/or bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages and design
  • Strong database experience
  • Experience with Kafka event streams
  • Strong understanding of modern software design principles and their application in scalable systems
  • Understanding of modern software best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and professionally with team members and other teams
  • Self-starter with passion for personal and professional growth
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain constant communication and accommodate questions and requests from other teams
  • Experience with the complete Microsoft Stack and Azure DevOps and Cloud Portal
  • Experience with Kibana/Elastic Search/Grafana and Dynatrace
  • Experience with data design, creation, querying, and stored procedures
  • Experience with WCF/REST/WebAPIs and API testing tools
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services preferred
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • Familiarity with Scrumban Agile methodology preferred
  • Previous experience designing scalable APIs preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship
