About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead complex, horizontal audit projects and supervise staff in completing audit engagements with minimal manager supervision
- Monitor audit engagement progress against plans and schedules
- Assess work performed by audit engagement teams
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to team members
- Serve as a subject matter expert and help drive strategy across related audit engagements
- Handle complex tasks autonomously and influence business-line understanding of risk mitigation
- Partner with business lines, Risk/Compliance/Audit professionals, and managers to create, implement, maintain, review, or oversee risk-management frameworks
- Participate in projects ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Identify process, system, and human-error gaps and recommend loss-minimizing solutions
- Identify, respond to, and escalate risks as appropriate
- Support third-line assurance efforts for large-scale cloud migration and post-migration operations
- Participate in assurance engagements involving applications and critical software assets, and advisory engagements for critical technology initiatives
- Assess control environments, identify control gaps, and recommend continuous improvements
- Deliver high-quality reports, recommendations, and insights
- Stay current on industry and technology trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than eight years of applicable experience
- Experience in IT applications controls and IT general controls testing
- Experience executing multiple integrated audits concurrently, including all stages of audit
- Experience utilizing data analytics and validating audit and regulatory issues within agreed-upon timeframes
- Experience leading stakeholder meetings and issue discussions
- Experience reviewing workpapers and addressing QA queries
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced understanding of banking operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
- Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends
- Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies and ability to execute assignments independently
- Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation and Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
- Applicable professional certifications preferred, such as CISA
- Working knowledge of Cloud, Micro Services, Middleware, databases, and DevOps preferred
- Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week
