About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead business-line efforts to identify, document, and maintain critical data assets, reports, data flows, and accountable ownership
- Direct maintenance and validation of data inventories, metadata, and lineage documentation
- Lead resolution of complex data quality issues and defects, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, corrective action planning, and remediation oversight
- Establish and oversee data quality validation approaches
- Analyze data quality metrics and trends and present actionable insights to senior stakeholders
- Translate enterprise data governance policies, standards, and regulatory expectations into business-line requirements and controls
- Lead and monitor critical data identification, attestation, data quality validation, issue management, and defect remediation
- Provide independent, risk-based credible challenge regarding governance practices, controls, data handling, and remediation plans
- Coordinate responses to attestations, audits, examinations, and related requests
- Serve as senior liaison between Enterprise Data Governance and Consumer & Business Banking partners
- Advise data owners, stewards, control partners, and leaders on governance requirements and remediation options
- Represent the business line in enterprise governance forums and working groups
- Influence decisions and secure stakeholder commitment through data-driven analysis and executive-level communication
- Lead improvements to governance processes and controls
- Contribute to strategic data governance initiatives by defining requirements, coordinating delivery, managing dependencies, and measuring outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically more than eight years of applicable experience
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends
- Considerable understanding of business-line operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
- Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong analytical, process facilitation, and project management skills
- Effective presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Effective relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
