About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage ongoing performance, credit monitoring, and risk mitigation for a portfolio of tax credit equity investments and loans
  • Maintain relationships with internal partners and external customers
  • Monitor project construction and development milestones for compliance and monthly financial forecasting
  • Review equity funding requests with external customers and U.S. Bank counsel as needed
  • Analyze project performance for programmatic compliance
  • Monitor investment risk profiles and recommend risk-rating adjustments
  • Review and negotiate post-closing deal amendments, modifications, and restructures
  • Prepare credit memos and underwriting packages for management and Credit Administration
  • Review budgets, financial statements, guarantor statements, audits, tax returns, and annual compliance reports
  • Perform monthly forecasts for tax credit delivery, benefits, fees, and equity contributions
  • Complete quarterly risk assessments, portfolio reviews, problem-credit reviews, and relationship reviews
  • Conduct site inspections and partner meetings as necessary
  • Manage funding commitments and verify funding conditions
  • Coordinate investment booking, construction monitoring, and documentation with other departments
  • Engage attorneys, accountants, and construction consultants as needed
  • Present investment status, workout strategies, and modifications to senior management and Credit Officers
  • Participate in policy development and special projects
  • Ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics, AML, BSA, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically six or more years of related experience
  • Proven credit management, underwriting and financial analysis skills, including cash flow analysis experience with complex, structured transactions
  • Due diligence proficiency and detail orientation
  • Knowledge of financial modeling techniques and analysis of proforma financial statements
  • Comprehension of complex project finance transactions, loan documentation, and deal structure mechanics
  • Knowledge of renewable energy project management, including equipment and performance review
  • Baseline understanding of U.S. energy markets, regulatory structures, physical and synthetic forms of power agreements, and derivative instruments
  • Ability to review and synthesize deal-related documentation and materials, including third-party reports, loan/investment documents, and legal documents
  • Familiarity with standard banking processes and procedures, credit policies, procedures, and credit approval processes
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated interest in promoting diversity and commitment to equitable access to renewable energy benefits
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, workplace conduct and safety policies
