About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted advisor to mutual fund clients
- Assess the changing business environment and provide expertise and guidance
- Maximize client retention and expand product development and services
- Monitor client asset levels and propose fee structure amendments
- Conduct monthly client risk assessments measuring satisfaction for each USBFS service line
- Recommend ways to maintain and increase service levels
- Research client products and existing services to identify sales opportunities
- Coordinate interdepartmental meetings to develop strategies and solutions for client requests
- Coordinate client tours of USBFS operations, host clients at conferences, and attend Board of Directors' meetings when necessary
- Review and approve USBFS and U.S. Bank business line invoices for reasonableness and accuracy
- Prepare and complete transfer agent audit requests and SEC Exam information
- Review and approve shareholder statements, applications, regulatory documents, and tax forms
- Manage challenging client relationships and/or fund structures
- Represent Relationship Management on internal and external committees and at seminars/conferences
- Develop, improve, or implement department procedures to enhance clients' experience
- Assist with training and mentoring new personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience
- 12 to 16 years of experience in a mutual fund related or brokerage industry position
- Advanced knowledge of the financial services industry
- Understanding of operations, legal or accounting principles impacting the mutual fund industry
- Ability to build strong working relationships and respond promptly to client inquiries
- Effective work habits and organizational skills, including prioritizing and planning
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while adapting to changing client priorities
- Ability to produce high-quality, accurate, thorough work with attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound business judgment to proactively resolve issues or identify concerns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to practice effective risk management strategies and understand USBFS' risk policies
- Proven team-oriented skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to build formula-driven Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Flexibility with work hours as required to meet client expectations
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies
