About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform reviews of lending and deposit activity to ensure bank policy is consistently followed and applied
- Identify gaps and propose solutions that promote an effective risk management framework
- Identify and/or escalate risks as appropriate
- Serve as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Second Line of Defense
- Participate in reviews and activities ensuring compliance with Fair & Responsible Banking laws and regulations
- Conduct transactional reviews or critically challenge business line decisions related to mortgage, auto finance, credit cards, and other lending or deposit operations
- Analyze review results in relation to fair and responsible banking laws and regulations and identify factors contributing to elevated FaRB risk
- Prepare well-documented work papers supporting conclusions
- Summarize review results and prepare analysis reports identifying individual and aggregate risks
- Communicate review analysis with business line partners, including procedure and process gap analyses
- Identify process improvements to enhance review procedures
- Execute review protocols consistent with statistical practices, review parameters, and regulatory expectations
- Leverage statistical outcomes to focus file review data analysis
- Keep abreast of business policies and FaRB-related laws, regulations, guidance, and regulatory developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically 5+ years of applicable experience
- Advanced knowledge of loan origination, loan underwriting and loan pricing as applicable to laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends
- Advanced understanding of financial services operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
- Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong analytical skills and project management acumen
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
- Applicable professional certifications preferred
- Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
- Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
