About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a group of accountants, accounting specialists, and/or support staff
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, general ledger maintenance and reporting, and administration of accounting controls
  • Train, motivate, assign work, schedule work hours, check results, and assist with performance reviews for assigned staff
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, monthly forecasts, and monthly variance analyses
  • Research and resolve accounting issues
  • Ensure internal and external customer questions are researched and resolved in a timely manner
  • Participate in department and company projects and potentially lead smaller projects
  • Maintain the general ledger and records of mutual funds of varying complexity
  • Produce end-of-day net asset value calculations
  • Prepare daily general ledger accounting, cash reconciliations, advisor/portfolio management processing, corporate action application, expense accrual/payment postings, net asset value and mill rate determinations, portfolio pricing analysis/validations, information distributions, and portfolio reconciliations
  • Partner with administrators, transfer agencies, and prime brokers/custodians on compliance, audits, and financials
  • Ensure Fund Accounting functions comply with SEC regulations and GAAP principles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Five or more years of experience in accounting or finance activities
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, particularly Microsoft Office applications and Excel
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
