About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and lead an enterprise capability for forward-looking financial strategy and resource allocation decisions
- Provide decision support guiding strategic priorities, investment choices, and long-term value creation
- Partner across the enterprise to deploy capital and resources against highest-priority opportunities
- Frame and influence enterprise trade-offs across capital, cost structure, and growth investments
- Serve as trusted counsel on Managing Committee- and Board of Directors-ready decision inputs and narratives
- Guide enterprise capital allocation and resource allocation analysis across growth, cost, risk, and balance sheet priorities
- Provide forward-looking enterprise decision support for strategic priorities, resource deployment, and executive decision-making
- Leverage quantitative models, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and external risk perspectives
- Deliver agile analytics solutions for strategic problems, investment decisions, and emerging strategic questions
- Partner with Enterprise Strategy on strategic initiatives and enterprise decision forums
- Deliver competitive and strategic financial insights, executive materials, and recommendations
- Synthesize competitive performance, market intelligence, economic context, and external risk perspectives into enterprise strategic insight
- Translate external and competitive insight into capital allocation, enterprise trade-offs, and strategic priorities
- Extend Corporate FP&A influence on enterprise and Board of Directors matters
- Build, lead, and scale high-performing analytical teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep financial analysis, enterprise FP&A, capital allocation, and resource allocation expertise
- Strong executive decision-framing skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear choices, trade-offs, and recommendations
- Experience leveraging scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and external risk perspectives to inform strategic decisions
- Strategic vision and enterprise orientation, with the judgment to balance growth, cost, risk, and balance sheet priorities
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across Finance, Enterprise Strategy, business lines, and executive leadership forums
- Strong communication and executive presence, including experience developing MC- and BOD-ready materials
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing analytical teams
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced finance, strategy, or quantitative credentials
- Experience spanning both strategy and finance, ideally in an enterprise or corporate finance leadership capacity
- Experience leading capital allocation, strategic finance, or resource allocation functions at a large financial institution
- Familiarity with bank balance sheet dynamics, regulatory expectations, economic outlooks, and enterprise risk considerations
- Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
- Certain positions may be subject to FINRA, NMLS registration, Reg Z, Reg G, OFAC, the NFA, the FCPA, the Bank Secrecy Act, the SAFE Act, and/or applicable federal guidelines
