About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coordinate operational activities for assigned functional areas or regions
  • Ensure quality service and effective operations support for internal and external customers
  • Lead high-performance teams by setting goals, providing feedback, measuring progress, recognizing success, and building accountability
  • Oversee adherence to corporate policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and KYC standards
  • Direct onboarding and implementation from initial engagement through operational handoff, including complex multi-entity conversions
  • Establish transition strategies, governance, milestones, communication plans, and escalation protocols
  • Oversee documentation review, KYC coordination, account setup, funding, asset conversion, reconciliation, and readiness for ongoing administration
  • Allocate resources and balance capacity, complexity, service commitments, and risk across the onboarding portfolio
  • Lead workflow simplification, procedure development, documentation standards, technology change, and continuous improvement
  • Represent onboarding capabilities in client, prospect, finalist, and business-line discussions
  • Build partnerships across Relationship Management, Account Management, Operations, Product, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology
  • Coach and develop leaders and professionals; manage performance, succession, engagement, and talent planning
  • Determine onboarding approaches, resource priorities, escalation paths, and operational readiness within delegated authority
  • Influence staffing, workflow, control, technology, and organizational-change decisions
  • Provide oversight of onboarding governance, documentation quality, issue management, exceptions, and escalation
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Operations to address findings and implement sustainable controls
  • Reinforce timely, accurate, and complete execution throughout the onboarding lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically eight or more years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, institutional trust, custody, onboarding, implementation, operations, account management, or client relationship management
  • Demonstrated experience leading professional teams and driving cross-functional client, operational, or strategic initiatives
  • Thorough knowledge of operational functions, systems, procedures, and assigned business-area products and services
  • Strong understanding of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • In-depth knowledge of financial products, programs, financial analysis, and related documentation
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Well-developed client relationship and customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven supervisory and people leadership capabilities
  • Leadership experience supporting institutional trust and custody onboarding, account opening, KYC, asset conversion, implementation, or operational readiness functions
  • Experience developing scalable processes and leading technology, workflow, operational, or organizational change initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of trust and custody operations, client service models, project management methodologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior leaders while managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of driving operational excellence, improving client experiences, and delivering results in a highly regulated environment
