About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and update learning assets using approved templates, tools, and standards
- Translate SME input, business requirements, and source materials into structured learning experiences
- Create courses, modules, job aids, and practice activities addressing performance gaps
- Apply adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and inclusive design practices
- Partner with Learning Consultants, facilitators, and stakeholders to clarify scope and align solutions with business and learner needs
- Participate in reviews, quality checks, and refinement cycles before launch
- Collaborate with facilitation and learning partners to align design intent and delivery
- Maintain clean files, version history, documentation, and tracking
- Identify content gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Review learner feedback, facilitator insights, and data to improve learning effectiveness
- Use authoring tools, learning platforms, and AI-enabled design tools for development, tagging, updates, and maintenance
- Apply quality assurance and human judgment to AI-generated outputs
- Stay current with evolving design practices, tools, and technologies
- Share knowledge, insights, and best practices across the design team
- Support onboarding, peer learning, and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent
- Five or more years of experience in instructional design, learning development, or a related field involving structured content creation and learner support
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and practice-based learning approaches
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging and accessible learning assets
- Proficiency with common authoring tools and comfort learning new technologies, including AI-enabled design and tagging tools
- Advanced proficiency with authoring tools
- Comfort using AI-enabled tools for drafting, tagging, and light automation
- Strong grasp of adult learning, scenario-based design, and practice-first approaches across learning modalities
- Confident SME facilitation, stakeholder communication, and feedback handling
- Solid accessibility practice (WCAG), including reviews and remediation
- Ability to interpret dashboards/analytics, run small tests, and iterate learning solutions
- Familiarity with LMS and LXP platforms
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow standards and processes
- Strong communication and partnership skills
- Openness to new technology and evolving design practices
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week
