About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and support critical Working Capital Finance applications
  • Build applications using Java microservices, Spring Boot, Postgres, Kafka, and modern cloud-native architectures
  • Independently respond to business needs, emails, Teams messages, and deadlines
  • Analyze possible scenarios and identify missed scenarios
  • Design, code, and test both happy-path and non-happy-path scenarios
  • Design, code, and test for current and anticipated future volumes
  • Deeply debug testing and production issues by understanding expected behavior and when issues began
  • Ensure product development follows compliance and security best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java 17+ and object-oriented programming principles
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, dependency injection, REST APIs, security, and core Spring ecosystem fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with MQ/Kafka, messaging platforms, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous system integration patterns
  • Experience building and deploying microservices architectures in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, CloudBees, or equivalent enterprise pipeline technologies
  • Experience with build and dependency management tools, preferably Maven (Gradle acceptable)
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and DB2, including data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, system integration, API development, secure coding practices, and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or MyBatis (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes deployment, container orchestration, and configuration management
  • Experience implementing secrets management and application security best practices
  • Exposure to React and modern front-end development frameworks
  • Experience working within financial services, banking, lending, treasury, or Working Capital Finance domains (preferred)
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week
