About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide system, operational, and procedural support for mortgage personnel across mortgage applications and business processes
- Investigate and resolve complex user issues
- Coordinate Incident management activities
- Perform controlled system and data maintenance
- Serve as a liaison between business partners, technology teams, and third-party vendors
- Analyze operational trends
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures where applicable
- Recommend process improvements
- Communicate changes impacting the mortgage business line
- Provide subject matter expertise on mortgage systems, business processes, and application integrations
- Support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a positive end-user experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically two or more years of mortgage or related experience
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage originations, fulfillment, and related operational workflows
- Strong understanding of mortgage applications and supporting technologies, including loan origination systems, imaging systems, customer-facing portals, workflow tools, and case management platforms
- Experience investigating operational issues, managing Incidents, identifying root causes, and coordinating resolution across business, technology, and vendor partners
- Ability to analyze business processes and recommend procedural, training, and system improvements
- Experience developing, interpreting, and communicating policies, procedures, job aids, and operational guidance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to assess risk and determine appropriate solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service and relationship management skills
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including translating technical information into business-friendly language
- Experience working with case management, Incident management, and ticketing systems
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and related collaboration tools
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners, technology teams, and external vendors
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies
