About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build relationships with customers through in-person, appointment-based, and virtual engagement
- Assess and address customers’ banking needs
- Obtain and process customer and account information
- Educate clients on deposit, loan, digital, and self-service products and services
- Recommend solutions based on customers’ goals and needs
- Conduct proactive outreach and follow-up
- Greet clients and process basic transactions
- Open new consumer and business accounts
- Complete service requests and submit credit applications
- Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners
- Leverage resources and technologies to optimize client experience and operational accuracy
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year to 5 years minimum experience in customer service and sales, depending on level
- Relationship Banker I: typically less than four years of job-related retail banking experience or equivalent training
- Relationship Banker II: typically a minimum of four to five years of job-related retail banking experience or equivalent training
- Sr Relationship Banker: typically five or more years of job-related retail banking experience or equivalent training
- National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
- Required NMLS registration process includes a criminal background and credit check
- Ability to build and foster client relationships through proactive outreach and follow-up
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
- Knowledge of bank and branch policies, procedures, support systems, retail banking products and services
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
- Ability to identify customer needs and make appropriate recommendations
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and workplace conduct and safety policies
