About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Approve the extension of credit and/or make recommendations on final lending decisions for new, renewal, and extension loans
- Conduct complete credit analyses by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting credit information on existing and prospective customers
- Review customer accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate, and determine appropriate action on potential credit quality issues
- Maximize credit quality while minimizing risk and potential loss to the company
- Use technological tools and computer software to assist in credit analysis of individual credits or portfolios
- Compare and evaluate possible courses of action and make recommendations and/or decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically five or more years of relevant experience
- Strong credit analysis and analytical skills
- In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy and procedures, and risk analysis
- Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance
- Effective technical report writing skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages
- Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
- Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred
