About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and govern enterprise-wide Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management frameworks
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, Salt states, and other automation artifacts
- Manage configuration drift and enforce infrastructure standards
- Define and manage the desired state of servers, virtual machines, containers, cloud resources, and platform services across hybrid infrastructure environments
- Architect and evolve Configuration Management strategies, standards, and governance models
- Build scalable, idempotent, and auditable automation pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, configuration deployment, patch management, and compliance enforcement
- Collaborate with cloud, platform, security, and engineering teams to integrate IaC and Configuration Management into enterprise DevOps and CI/CD workflows
- Establish automated compliance controls, configuration validation processes, and reporting capabilities
- Troubleshoot and optimize configuration management platforms
- Provide technical leadership on automation best practices
- Mentor engineers on Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to six years of relevant experience
- Strong expertise in Configuration Management platforms such as Ansible Automation Platform (preferred), Salt, Chef, or Puppet
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions within large-scale enterprise environments
- Deep understanding of infrastructure automation, configuration drift management, system compliance, and desired-state configuration principles
- Experience building scalable automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration management, patching, and operational governance
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server administration, including automation of operating system configuration and lifecycle management
- Experience integrating automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines, source control platforms (Git), and DevOps toolchains
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including automation of cloud infrastructure resources
- Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and problem-solving skills with experience using automation languages and tools such as Python, YAML, PowerShell, or Bash
- Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
