About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze, design, test, develop, deploy, and maintain best-in-class software experiences
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support highly scalable, secure, and resilient applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud-Native Architectures
  • Lead the design and implementation of Blockchain Connectivity, Digital Asset Servicing, Tokenization, Custody Solutions, Settlement Processing, and Real-Time Payments
  • Build and optimize Event-Driven Architectures, APIs, integration services, and high-volume transaction processing platforms
  • Develop enterprise solutions for mission-critical financial systems focused on Scalability, Performance, Reliability, and Security
  • Partner with business, product, architecture, operations, compliance, risk, and security teams
  • Drive engineering excellence through Domain-Driven Design, API-First Development, DevOps, Automation, and Secure Coding Practices
  • Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, technical design sessions, and governance activities
  • Champion Site Reliability Engineering principles, proactive monitoring, observability, and continuous platform improvement
  • Take responsibility for software artifacts and adhere to U.S. Bank standards to minimize customer experience impact
  • Work within the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to six years of relevant experience
  • Advanced expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, and enterprise application development
  • Strong experience building and deploying applications on Cloud Platforms with Containerization and Kubernetes
  • Expertise in Event-Driven Systems using Apache Kafka or similar messaging technologies
  • Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, Object-Oriented Design, Software Design Patterns, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
  • Experience designing and supporting High-Throughput, Low-Latency, and Mission-Critical Transaction Processing Systems
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure Automation, Observability, Monitoring, and modern DevOps Practices
  • Understanding of Digital Assets, Blockchain Technologies, Tokenization Platforms, and Enterprise Blockchain Integration
  • Knowledge of Stablecoins, Digital Wallets, Tokenized Asset Lifecycles, Custody Models, Settlement Workflows, and Blockchain-Based Transaction Processing
