About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Underwrite distressed commercial credit relationships
  • Prepare reports for distressed commercial credit relationships
  • Support the Bank's risk management, workout, and loss mitigation objectives
  • Serve as the primary operational and analytical lead
  • Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Legal, Loan Operations, and senior leadership
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize recovery, minimize losses, and support risk management
  • Manage a team of Portfolio Managers
  • Handle staffing, performance management, prioritization, guidance, and training
  • Manage the most challenging and complicated relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than 12 years of applicable experience
  • Experience in commercial banking, loan workouts, or special assets activities
  • Advanced understanding of commercial credit structures, loan documentation, collateral, and assignment processes
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
