Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain tax records and prepare tax returns and related reports for an assigned area
  • File federal and state tax reporting
  • Develop and maintain tax strategies to minimize tax liability
  • Prepare financial statements and specialized accounting reports
  • Assist with tax return audits and compliance reports
  • Prepare and develop reports for management or regulatory authorities
  • Respond to inquiries regarding tax accounting policies, procedures, and problems from bank management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities
  • Maintain adequate accounting and control for an assigned area
  • Monitor accounts for tax withholding payments made to the IRS or state within the appropriate time period

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Well-developed accounting, tax accounting, mathematical, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
  • Thorough knowledge of government and regulatory laws and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and planning
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
  • Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
  • Must satisfy applicable employment eligibility verification and background-check requirements
