About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review title, survey, and zoning documents
- Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and secure final title policies
- Prepare and track legal closing checklists
- Organize, track, and review due diligence documents, including property-level due diligence and organizational documents
- Prepare summaries of due diligence documents, including full abstracts of complicated agreements
- Draft routine and more complex transaction documents
- Order, track, and review legal searches from third-party vendors and summarize issues
- Prepare and file UCCs and other required filings
- Support lawyers with closing multifamily real estate financings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience with title and survey review, due diligence review, UCC searches/filings, and post-closing follow-up
- Commercial real estate experience with a law firm, title company, commercial lender, or related entity
- Experience reviewing title, survey, and zoning documents
- Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office applications, document management systems, and time-keeping software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Ability to work independently, with a team, and with clients
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Experience with Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac CME, and/or HUD-insured programs is a plus
- A college degree is preferred
