About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Serve outpatient practices of UCLA Health-Behavioral Health Associates, with emphasis on adult and geriatric populations and services also involving children and adolescents

  • Travel between the Calabasas and Malibu clinics
  • Work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with schedule potentially varying

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or CA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Masters in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
  • 2 years of experience and skill interacting with health care providers in a multidisciplinary setting
  • 2 years of experience as a fully licensed, autonomous clinician
  • 5+ years of psychotherapy experience in inpatient, outpatient, or group settings with or without license
  • Working knowledge of general theoretical and clinical models
  • Ability to develop effective rapport and working therapeutic alliances with patients
  • Skill in writing clear and complete clinical notes and summaries of clinical evaluations
  • Skills and experiences in documenting/charting to ensure current and accurate medical records are entered and documented in patient files in accordance with established Medical Records policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of LCSW/LMFT ethics and scope of practice
  • Ability to perform a complete mental status exam and recognize changes in mental status
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and mutually respectful relationships with professionals and support staff
  • Knowledge of pertinent current community resources, including income maintenance, mental health treatment, special education, residential and vocational supports
  • Ability to provide and maintain appropriate coordination of care with existing providers and/or variety of community agencies and demonstrate assertiveness, persistence, and diplomacy as an advocate for the patient
  • Maintains the expected case load of patients
  • Final candidate accepting employment must disclose certain final administrative or judicial misconduct decisions or appeals within the last seven years
