About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of funds flow data architecture, calculation environments, and reporting solutions
- Support the redesign and implementation of UCLA Health’s funds flow model and supporting systems
- Translate approved funds flow methodologies into scalable data structures, business rules, and reporting tools
- Support physician attribution, productivity reporting, funding allocation, and complex financial analytics
- Partner with Finance, the Office of Health Informatics and Analytics, and operational stakeholders
- Translate financial assumptions into system requirements, business rules, data models, calculation logic, and reporting structures
- Develop data requirements and integrate financial, clinical, and operational data
- Build scalable, automated solutions to improve reporting efficiency
- Develop executive, departmental, and operational reports, dashboards, analytical tools, forecasts, and recommendations
- Lead data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis across multiple source systems
- Establish data quality standards, controls, testing plans, and monitoring processes
- Gather requirements, evaluate data sources, resolve data management issues, and provide guidance on business intelligence, reporting, and analytics best practices
- Support training, adoption, and effective use of business intelligence tools and reporting solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, financial systems, analytics, reporting, data management, or related functions
- Demonstrated expertise in business intelligence, advanced analytics, data architecture, and reporting best practices
- Ability to serve as a technical leader and advisor on business intelligence, analytics, reporting strategy, and data management best practices
- Advanced knowledge of database structures, data modeling, business intelligence tools, reporting platforms, and enterprise data environments
- Ability to translate complex business and financial requirements into scalable data solutions and reporting structures
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, data extraction, data transformation, and large dataset management
- Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate data quality, perform reconciliations, validate results, and establish data governance practices
- Ability to communicate complex technical and financial information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated interpersonal and consulting skills
- Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau or similar business intelligence platforms
- Advanced organizational and project management skills
