About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Design Lead.
- Monitor, enable and coordinate between customers, project managers and designers.
- Collate stakeholder requirements across UKPN directorates and external customers.
- Source survey information from specialist contractors.
- Notify HSE of all Notifiable projects.
- Monitor P6 progress reports and maintain communications with all parties.
- Summarise action points and learning opportunities from P6 exception reports, design reviews and Risk & Value events.
- Monitor provision of design risk assessments (HEML) on all projects.
- Arrange and hold design, Value Engineering and HEML reviews.
- Monitor monthly design progress and reporting to support financial targets.
- Compile and submit statutory notices and updates for Notifiable projects.
- Collate monthly design dashboards covering project portfolios, workloads, delivery programmes, efficiencies and performance/design issues.
- Create F10 Notification Letters via the UKPN System Toolkit.
- Prepare Appointment Letters covering PD, PC and client representative duties.
- Track statuses and upload design-related project documents into UKPN systems.
- Update document and drawing registers and compile information for Health and Safety files.
- Insert P6 commentary as required by team members.
- Record and monitor Capital Programme milestones.
- Support the Design Team Lead and coordinate monthly design progress.
- Support the wider engineering team with staff scheduling and training.
- Coordinate designers, design leads, principal designers and engineering teams to agree scopes, deliverables, milestones, budgets and programmes.
- Track design progress and support timely closure of actions.
- Liaise with technical leads to ensure designs are agreed and reviewed according to departmental procedures.
- Assist with administration of databases, tools, authorisations, training and scheduling.
- Attend UKPN and customer site meetings, travel as required, and work across various office locations.
- Adhere to health, safety, environmental, quality assurance and company design standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous track record in design co-ordination
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft desktop applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, P6, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Toolkit, Sharepoint and SAP.
- Ability to work unsupervised, set and comply with own targets, and identify and implement innovative cost saving solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in mainstream engineering construction including electrical Networks (desirable)
- Holds a full valid driving licence (desirable)
- Capacity to learn to use new IT and processes
- Familiarity with and adherence to Quality Assurance procedures and company design standards
- Understanding of health and safety risks and required controls
