About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review Group Life & Health premium payments against amounts due, process payments to the Group system, verify premium and lives information, and resolve discrepancies with clients
- Review Stop Loss premium payments, process them to the ESL system, verify premium and lives information, and resolve discrepancies with clients
- Review Group Due & Unpaid premium reports, validate data, contact clients about delinquencies, and mail delinquency letters after the 31-day grace period
- Review GFA audits for premium problems and make adjustments to Group and ESL systems
- Process complex premium transactions, including Flex Life, Rate Stabilization, Premium Deposit, Non-Group, and Refunds
- Provide customer service for internal and external billing inquiries
- Coordinate, maintain, and process special billing for specified group contracts
- Administer Flex Life cases
- Remotely deposit checks to Mellon and Bank of America lockbox accounts
- Provide backup support for commission processing and lockbox receipt processing
- Scan and file documents according to department guidelines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree or equivalent training and/or experience
- Familiarity with Group Life and Health terminology, with an emphasis on billing and collection practices
- Up to five years of bookkeeping/billing and collection experience preferred, with working knowledge of supporting systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows
- Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word word processing
- Must pass company Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook tests at an Intermediate level
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- This organization participates in E-Verify
