About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute and review reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Analyze consistency among accounting balances, source systems, and supporting controls
- Prepare journal entries, provisions, reclassifications, and other activities related to the month-end close
- Investigate accounting discrepancies, identify their causes, and follow up on the resolution of outstanding items
- Prepare calculation workpapers, reports, variance analyses, and supporting documentation
- Ensure the proper accounting classification of transactions in accordance with accounting standards and corporate guidelines
- Keep reconciliations, controls, and supporting evidence organized and available for reference
- Support internal and external audits
- Work with internal teams to obtain information and resolve outstanding items
- Meet deadlines, operational controls, SLAs, and performance indicators established by the department
- Proactively communicate risks, delays, and dependencies that may affect the close
- Contribute to the standardization, improvement, and documentation of accounting processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Experience with accounting routines and closing processes
- Knowledge of balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Knowledge of journal entries, provisions, reclassifications, and variance analysis
- Knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards, especially CPC, and familiarity with IFRS
- Experience preparing and organizing documents and supporting evidence for audits
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and accountability for deadlines and deliverables
- Ability to independently manage moderately complex accounting routines
- Experience with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA
- Experience working in a Shared Services Center
- Knowledge of internal controls and SOX requirements
- Experience supporting multiple companies or business units
- Participation in process improvement, automation, or transformation projects
- Knowledge of tools for data processing, analysis, and visualization
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, propose adjustments, and follow up on outstanding items through resolution
- Clear communication skills and ability to interact with different departments
