About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end technical solution architecture for assigned projects
- Prepare Solution Architecture Documents, technical design and integration specifications, Architecture Decision Records, non-functional requirements and capacity/scalability plans, and technology roadmaps and migration plans when applicable
- Design end-to-end architectures meeting business, technical, security, and scalability requirements
- Lead architectural discovery, evaluate technology options, and recommend optimal stacks, platforms, and tools
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs, system diagrams, and integration blueprints
- Define and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to development, QA, and infrastructure teams
- Identify, assess, and mitigate performance, security, scalability, and other technical risks
- Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Product Owners, and stakeholders on scope, timelines, and budgets
- Review code, designs, and technical deliverables for architectural alignment and quality
- Drive evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, cloud services, and modern architecture patterns
- Support pre-sales and solutioning activities, including technical proposals, estimations, and client presentations
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, governance, security, and data privacy requirements
- Facilitate architecture review boards, design workshops, and technical stakeholder communications
- Conduct Knowledge Transfer sessions and training for engineering teams and stakeholders during Singapore and Manila training engagements
- Develop technical training materials, architecture guides, and documentation
- Support continuous improvement of architecture practices, tooling, and delivery processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- At least 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a Solutions Architect or comparable technical leadership role
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade, cloud-based, and/or on-premise solution architectures
- Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks and principles, including TOGAF, microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Solid understanding of API design, system integration patterns, data architecture, and DevOps/CI-CD practices
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of application security, data privacy, and compliance considerations in solution design
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers on architecture and design best practices
- Experience preparing and maintaining architecture documentation, including solution designs, ADRs, and technical roadmaps
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including engagement with C-level stakeholders
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Familiarity and relevant experience with the insurance industry
- Prior experience conducting Knowledge Transfer sessions, training, or facilitation is highly preferred
- Willingness and availability to travel to Singapore for training in October and continue training in Manila from November to December
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent are highly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities
- Preferred residence in Metro Manila
