About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the full spectrum of HR practices for the embedded business unit
  • Develop talent strategy, succession planning, and performance management programs
  • Support talent acquisition, organizational design and effectiveness, training and development, associate relations, compensation, and benefits
  • Serve as strategic HR partner to Regional Directors supporting retail stores across the US West and Canada regions
  • Act as liaison among business unit leadership, HR specialists, and the executive team
  • Promote positive employer-employee relationships, employee morale, and Under Armour culture
  • Assess internal talent and create strategies to retain current talent and attract external talent
  • Prepare exit strategies for non-performers
  • Provide HR coaching and counseling to business partners
  • Research industry practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technology advancements, and benchmarks
  • Engage HR specialists to build talent pipelines, administer benefits and rewards, develop training programs, establish wage and salary structures, and ensure employment-law compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources or related experience
  • Prior experience providing HR support to retail and/or store field employees required
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law
  • Experience with California and Canadian labor law is a plus
  • Proven knowledge of core HR processes including performance management, organization design, leadership development, talent management, compensation, succession planning, training, and organizational development
  • Prior experience promoting an atmosphere which inspires teammates to excel and develop
  • Prior experience leading talent strategy reviews, employee retention, and identification of high potential external resources
  • Prior experience providing confidential counseling and coaching to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate team members and influence positive action and accountability
  • Proven experience building cross-functional internal and external relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to disseminate information clearly and concisely
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Must reside within commuting distance from Under Armour's global headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland
