Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring compliance with policies and deadlines.
Review and analyze aging reports and take proactive action on overdue items.
Manage bank and petty cash reconciliations.
Prepare and review VAT, EC, VIES, and other tax declarations, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
Perform balance sheet and P&L variance analyses and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting.
Mentor and support junior team members in daily activities and facilitate knowledge exchange.
Ensure compliance with local GAAP.
Assist in preparing the quarterly financial reporting.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
Proven proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and strong Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
Strong understanding of tax and VAT principles applicable in EU jurisdictions.
Knowledge of IAS/IFRS will be considered a plus.
Excellent use of English, both written and verbal.
Good command of French is desirable.
