About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promptly and professionally answer high-volume inbound phone calls from retail customers, professional mechanics, commercial repair shops, and dealerships
- Utilize digital parts catalogs, electronic lookup systems such as CDK and Epicor, manufacturer-specific databases, and fitment guides to identify components by Year, Make, Model, or VIN
- Enter, verify, and finalize customer orders, payments, and invoices in POS and inventory control management systems
- Recommend companion items such as gaskets, seals, fluids, and specialty tools through upselling and cross-selling
- Provide pricing, product availability, shipping rates, and delivery timeframes
- Address questions about warranties, core charges, and return policies
- Resolve order discrepancies, shipping delays, and basic technical fitment complaints
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, shipping managers, and delivery drivers to track pending fulfillments and flag out-of-stock items for reorder
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in automotive parts sales, automotive customer service, or working at a parts counter/call center
- Strong baseline knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle mechanics, and major component categories
- Hands-on experience with electronic parts catalogs (EPC), inventory systems, and basic database management
- Excellent verbal communication and an active, patient listening style tailored for telephone-based customer interactions
- Capable of looking up technical data on a computer screen while maintaining an engaging, clear conversation with a client on the phone
- Ability to work extended periods sitting at a desk and wearing a phone headset
- Ability to handle high-volume screen usage and continuous data entry
