Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for external offices regarding technical support issues
  • Support, educate, and train decentralized office employees on applications and technology
  • Provide technical assistance for computer systems, software, hardware, mobile devices, and end-user applications
  • Respond to support requests and incidents in person, in writing, or over the phone while sitting at a desk for long periods
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, provide technical assistance, support system usage, and perform password resets
  • Document each customer interaction clearly in the ticketing system
  • Train customers to support future self-service using technology
  • Research and resolve customer calls requiring follow-up
  • Comply with documented processes and work toward expected service levels
  • Prioritize and resolve incidents; monitor assigned incidents for timely resolution
  • Respond to initial phone calls in a fast-paced help desk environment
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in help desk or related IT field
  • 1+ year of experience in a field requiring customer service skills
  • Familiarity with or experience troubleshooting LAN hardware/software, desktop devices, and end-user applications on mid-range systems, cloud, and mobile devices
  • Ability to triage technical issues efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and applications
  • Knowledge of relevant operating systems, languages, and environments
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive working attitude, contributing as an individual and team member to accomplish goals
  • Strong analytical skills, decisiveness, and sound judgment
  • Knowledge of current and evolving information technologies, including telecommunications, electronic data distribution networks, and computers
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional holidays, weekends, and evenings
  • Ability to manage time and adapt to changes in workflow
