About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end architecture of Dynamics 365 Business Central for Uniphar's Medtech division
- Define and maintain target architecture, design principles and standards
- Act as design authority, making key design decisions and approving solution designs
- Own the technical debt agenda and drive supportable, upgrade-safe design
- Review, challenge and approve designs from implementation partners, ISVs and third-party developers
- Hold vendors accountable for design quality, cost, estimates and supportability
- Partner with finance, supply chain, warehouse and commercial teams to understand processes and identify opportunities
- Translate business opportunities into proposals articulating value, effort and risk
- Own solution design across finance, purchasing, inventory, warehouse management, distribution and order-to-cash
- Design for medical-device traceability, expiry control, UDI and consignment/field inventory
- Design for resiliency, scalability, performance, availability and disaster recovery
- Embed security, data protection, access controls, segregation of duties and governance
- Manage the approach to Microsoft's continuous release cycle and keep the platform upgrade-ready
- Design integrations between Business Central and Dynamics 365 CE, Azure, SAP, EDI, 3PL/warehouse systems, Microsoft 365 and third-party SaaS
- Define transactional and master data flows to the group data platform
- Ensure regulatory, GxP, validation, audit trail, traceability, retention and financial-control requirements are met
- Engage senior stakeholders and communicate architecture, options and trade-offs
- Evangelise Business Central and Power Platform capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep, demonstrable experience architecting Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV solutions at enterprise scale, ideally multi-entity and multi-country
- Strong functional grounding across finance, purchasing, inventory and warehouse management, distribution and order-to-cash
- Hands-on AL extension development experience, including extensions, events/interfaces and custom APIs
- Experience deciding when to configure, extend or buy, while keeping the core clean and upgrade-safe
- Strong knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse
- Experience designing for resiliency, scalability, performance and disaster recovery, including high-volume transactional workloads
- Strong integration architecture experience across Azure, including Logic Apps, Azure Integration Services and APIs
- Experience with EDI, 3PL/warehouse and SAP integration advantageous
- Experience with ALM/CI-CD and source control for Business Central, such as Azure DevOps and Git for Enterprise
- Manual deployment to test and production environments is not permitted
- In-depth understanding of security best practices, access controls, segregation of duties and governance for cloud and ERP environments
- Experience in an Agile, product-based delivery environment, supporting a Product Owner and roadmap
- Proven experience managing, mentoring and leading developers and setting the technical quality bar
- Ability to design innovative, reusable solutions and components
- Proven ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence, challenge and build trust
- Experience in a regulated/GxP environment, ideally medical device or pharmaceutical distribution, including validation and change control
