About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Walk or drive neighborhoods and/or rural areas daily to prospect for new residential customers within the United Communications footprint
- Interact with prospects at their door, driveway, or in their homes to offer internet, phone, and add-on solutions
- Interact with prospects and customers at local community events
- Assess prospects’ needs and qualify them based on internet, phone, and streaming television requirements
- Conduct cold calls to residential addresses
- Build relationships and follow up with interested prospects via email and text
- Build and maintain knowledge of the assigned territory and establish community relationships
- Present United Communications’ solutions, address questions, overcome objections, and close sales
- Plan territory coverage and manage the sales pipeline
- Represent United Communications at community events, engage prospects, answer questions, identify needs, and complete on-site sales
- Attend community and neighborhood events, including some evening and weekend events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role (Sales, Customer Service, or Technical Support)
- Comfortable with door-to-door cold calling
- Ability to use technology tools such as laptop, tablet, and mobile phone
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in English
- Strong ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
- Self-motivated with effective time management skills
- Positive, results-oriented attitude
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook for email and basic Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Required commute to an assigned territory each workday
- Able to attend some evening and weekend events
