About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage overall branch operations to ensure safety, productivity, customer service and profitability
- Oversee sales efforts and business initiatives
- Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets and other operational reports
- Manage personnel matters
- Oversee safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations and drug and alcohol testing
- Hire and motivate teams across sales, service, maintenance and driver roles
- Ensure enthusiastic and informed customer service
- Build a profitable location
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Minimum 5 years of successful business management experience with profit and loss responsibility at a branch or other individual profit center
- Understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation
- Strong sales and customer service experience required
- Outside sales experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
- Effective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Position deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures
