About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote marketed products according to corporate guidance in an assigned geographic territory and designated accounts
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with MDs, NPs, PAs, RNs, and specialty distributor staff
  • Provide product messaging and education on assigned United Therapeutics products, including Orenitram, Remodulin, and Tyvaso
  • Analyze sales reports and develop and implement business plans to increase business and drive sales in key accounts
  • Coordinate activities with field-based team members to optimize selling, education, and support efforts
  • Utilize available resources to drive sales with key customers
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of disease state, product, and competitive landscape
  • Utilize the sales force automation system for territory effectiveness and record-keeping
  • Complete administrative requirements, including expense reports and call reporting
  • Adhere to corporate, external regulatory, and commercial compliance guidelines
  • Attend local, regional, and national medical PAH symposia and conferences
  • Attend patient support group meetings and participate in directed sales and marketing project teams
  • Support the San Francisco and Northern California territory
  • Travel 80%, including face-to-face customer visits, UT office visits, national events, and conferences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in nursing or life science, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience successfully selling pharmaceutical therapies or similar products to specialty physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals OR 6+ years of healthcare/nursing experience with advanced lung disease
  • 2+ years of experience in specialty pharmaceutical/biotech sales
  • 2+ years of experience selling within institutional or major teaching centers environment
  • Valid and in-state driver license in good standing
  • Live within the territory being supported
  • Ability to travel via motor vehicle and/or airplane
  • Expertise in Cardiovascular and/or Pulmonary Disease therapeutic area
  • Strong leader with proven selling record and outstanding communication skills
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Develop and maintain complete knowledge of UT products and services
