About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a results-based, goal-driven roadmap to achieve positive educational outcomes in Miami-Dade County
  • Conduct research and community engagement to develop briefs
  • Identify public policy issues and perform policy analysis
  • Support implementation of priority tactics and management of investment processes and grant monitoring activities
  • Monitor assigned Impact Area agencies through site visits, progress and data reviews, reporting, promotional materials, and technical assistance
  • Staff assigned Impact Council volunteers and serve as a resource focused on services and target populations
  • Maintain relationships with public and private social service organizations
  • Attend community, organizational, and committee meetings and represent United Way at community meetings and events
  • Provide support staffing for United Way initiatives
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and follow up on special events and activities related to strategic planning and work plans
  • Explore and secure partnerships with community organizations
  • Oversee development, implementation, and expansion of EDEN Place and Future Bound Miami
  • Gather data, meet with staff/consortium, and review outcomes data
  • Stay current on local, state, and national education and youth trends
  • Manage assigned United Way agency campaigns and other matrix assignments as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s preferred
  • One to three years experience in the non-profit/social service arena
  • Knowledge of modern web browsers
