About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise staff and/or lead a program area
  • Engage in extensive outreach and recruitment events representing the university to prospective students
  • Identify opportunities for and develop admissions and outreach events
  • Review, evaluate, and respond to student applications according to established policies and procedures
  • Schedule event logistics and secure resources to promote the institution
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Create targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
  • Deliver directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
  • Identify, promote, and maintain internal and external partnerships focused on outreach, recruitment, and admission
  • Counsel prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities
  • Travel throughout Wisconsin to high schools, college fairs, community events, and other educational institutions
  • Occasionally travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan, or Manitowoc campus based on operational needs
  • Support recruitment activities during occasional evening and weekend hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Working knowledge of desktop hardware
  • Working knowledge of standard business software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Working knowledge of the Internet
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, student personnel, higher education, or related field at time of application (preferred)
  • Proficiency in speaking and reading a second language, preferably Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida (preferred)
  • Experience with admissions software systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, or Image Now (preferred)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Wisconsin
  • Ability to occasionally work evening and weekend hours
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated integrity and strong leadership
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to work inclusively and respectfully within a diverse campus community
  • Three professional references, including at least one manager or supervisor, required during the interview process
