About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and process support requests for web updates and changes.
  • Design and update responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap 5.
  • Collaborate with designers, communications partners, and content contributors to optimize web content for user experience, SEO, and accessibility.
  • Build, edit, and redesign web pages for university units to improve performance, responsiveness, and user engagement.
  • Use CMS tools to schedule content reviews and updates and ensure content accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support large-scale projects improving the university web environment.
  • Respond to CMS user help desk requests with troubleshooting support and guidance.
  • Develop and share CMS help documentation and best practices.
  • Analyze CMS user feedback and propose improvements to the CMS and web environment.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A diploma or an undergraduate degree in digital media, communications, marketing or web design, or equivalent education in a similar field.
  • 2 years of combined experience in web page creation, web content management, SEO, and copyediting, preferably in a post-secondary or government environment.
  • Demonstrable experience building web pages and structuring websites using HTML and CSS.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise Content Management Systems.
  • Expert knowledge of best practices for web design, including responsive design, SEO and accessibility.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CSS Frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other digital analytics/reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace tools (documents, sheets, slides, Gmail, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of photo editing tools to crop and compress images.
  • Ability to submit a resume and cover letter.
