About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive support for patient care activities under supervision
  • Meet, greet, and assist the public
  • Answer telephones and coordinate appointments, referrals, consults, tests, and procedures
  • Check in and register patients; check out patients
  • Collect payments and issue receipts
  • Verify insurance coverage and respond to third-party payer requirements
  • Coordinate hospital admissions and surgery scheduling
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, surgeries, and tests using hospital systems
  • Conduct pre-registration and update patient information
  • Process walk-ins, create new patient charts, and access systems for orders
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and waiting rooms
  • Conduct insurance verification and explain benefits
  • Request outside records
  • Record daily and monthly statistics and communicate medical records issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years customer service or healthcare experience
  • Ability to follow oral instructions, read and write
  • Computer/basic keyboard skills
  • Telephone etiquette skills
  • General knowledge of office machines including printer and scanners
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
  • Preferred: Knowledge in basic medical terminology
  • Preferred: Registration experience
  • Required Documents: List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), Resume
