About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician
  • Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data
  • Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Formulate and implement a treatment plan for the management of acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician
  • Document in medical records appropriately
  • Provide family-centered care to meet the child’s health care needs
  • Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
  • Participate in staff education, and educate other APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows
  • Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or to team members
  • Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, by telephone, or by email as appropriate
  • Communicate with others with mutual respect and professional demeanor
  • Adhere to all standard policies and procedures
  • Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
  • National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the specialty of Acute or Primary Care
  • May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in either acute or primary care, although primary care is preferred
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Criminal Background Check
  • This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification)
