About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Extend patient care and administrative services for UAMS physicians in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments
- Manage patients’ health issues independently or in collaboration with designated physicians
- Serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
- Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care, facilitating necessary consults and ensuring timely, appropriate care
- Provide acute and chronic injury and illness care, post-hospital follow-up, family education and counseling, health promotion and prevention, and referrals
- Participate in institutional initiatives and policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation
- Communicate complete and unbiased information to colleagues
- Participate in service line meetings and help shape policies, programs, facility design, and day-to-day interactions
- Maintain required credentialing audits
- Complete continuing education, mandatory competencies, computer-based learning modules, and health monitoring services
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree
- Two (2) years nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
- APRN/CPN License
- Acute Care Certified OR Family Nurse Practitioner And/Or Urgent Care Certification
- Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to operate typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job, including scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines
- Must have normal communication sensory requirement
- Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry, Substance Abuse Testing
