About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to pediatric patients and their families
- Extend the patient care and administrative services of UAMS physicians
- Gather and evaluate perinatal and medical histories, diagnostic test results, physical examination findings, and behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial assessments
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings across all body systems
- Apply critical thinking and the nursing process to identify patient and family needs
- Provide ongoing and follow-up care, including patient and family education
- Interpret health assessment data and use clinical findings to guide patient care
- Develop short- and long-term care plans, including pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments
- Document health information, care plans, services, outcomes, and billing information according to established policies and regulations
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care plans, reassess progress, and modify plans as needed
- Communicate and collaborate with referring physicians, allied health professionals, and hospital staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Two (2) years of nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
- Current Arkansas APRN/CPN license
- National certification in Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care
- Current Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to safely operate nursing equipment, including scales, procedural equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB screening
- Subject to pre-employment criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
- Preferred: Two years of primary and/or acute pediatric care experience
- Preferred: Prescriptive authority and DEA license obtained before the date of hire
