About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive, adult patient-centered care across the lifespan
  • Promote health, prevent disease, manage acute and chronic diseases, and coordinate care
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients
  • Promote evidence-based practice, patient education, and continuity of care
  • Extend patient care and administrative services of UAMS physicians
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues in collaboration with designated physicians
  • Work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team
  • Serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care and facilitate necessary consultations
  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients and the public
  • Communicate accurately and completely; maintain confidentiality
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, management, and ancillary departments
  • Demonstrate patient- and family-centered care and follow the Code of Conduct guidelines
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of UAMS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's Degree in Nursing – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Two (2) years of RN experience
  • One (1) year of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • Arkansas APRN License, or eligible for licensure
  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire
  • Primary Care clinic experience preferred
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
