About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Extend patient care and administrative services for UAMS physicians in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, and prescribe medicines and treatments
- Manage patient health issues independently or in collaboration with designated physicians
- Work autonomously and collaboratively to diagnose and manage patient healthcare problems
- Serve as a healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
- Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care, facilitate necessary consultations, and ensure timely and appropriate care
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and establish baseline and ongoing status
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and other studies
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, including authorized medication prescriptions and non-pharmacologic interventions
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, preventive health, self-care, side effects, and escalation of care
- Document patient encounters, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support program development and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree
- Two (2) years nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
- APRN/CPN License
- Current BLS certification or ability to successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to operate typical nursing equipment essential to the job, including scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines
- Normal communication sensory ability
- Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated
- Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB screening, criminal background check, and substance abuse testing
